The forms in my series have been made using the traditional process of running and turning plaster - a technique that has been used for centuries.
Working with the properties of setting plaster, a laser cut template is dragged through the plaster until a perfect extrusion occurs.
An external and internal mould is then made and an acrylic based resin called Jesmonite is cast inside. Each one is then sanded and polished to a high finish.
Each object is made and finished entirely by hand.
All products are finished by hand and designed to last. To prevent stains all surfaces are sealed, however, please note these objects are not suitable for containing food or liquid. Items in the Granite finish are waterproof however continued exposure to water may alter the appearance of the material.
To remove dirt, wipe with a slightly damp cloth.
As each object is individually cast and finished by hand, slight colour variations and small surface imperfections may occur. These unique features are to be embraced and are all part of the casting process.
